Zvada should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B.

Call it larceny. Dominic Zvada sat on the board until the Round 7 slot, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Reaching for Johnson left real value on the table behind him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
