Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
Larceny in pick No. 220 lands the Patriots a B, Zvada and all.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Dominic Zvada tumbling to the Patriots in pick 220 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Amos has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Kolton Miller gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Josh Simmons
They jumped the gun on Josh Simmons, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick37 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
The board had Emeka Egbuka higher than pick No. 37, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick38 Rnd2 Trey Amos
They reached a country mile for Trey Amos at the Round 2 slot, and the board is aghast. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick69 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jalen Royals. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick77 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
They will replay Jihaad Campbell at the 77th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick104 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra in No. 104 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Oronde Gadsden II at pick 143 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick217 Rnd7 Jay Higgins
You do not let a linebacker like Jay Higgins reach the 217th pick and blink. They did not. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick220 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
Somehow Dominic Zvada was still sitting there in pick 220, and they pounced on premier specialist value. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick238 Rnd7 Corey Kiner
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Corey Kiner in Round 7, Pick 22, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
