You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Steelers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Orhorhoro at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
