FutureA
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Browns a A-. Whoever sat across the table from the Browns should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
Barber has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Getting Green where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Browns clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, KC Concepcion and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
KC Concepcion
In No. 26 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick28
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In the 28th pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick39
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon in Round 2, Pick 7 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick59
Rnd2
Austin Barber
Austin Barber at the 59th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70
Rnd3
Connor Lew
They took Connor Lew at par in pick 70, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick91
Rnd3
Skyler Bell
A tidy little value on Skyler Bell in pick No. 91, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick106
Rnd4
Jaishawn Barham
By-the-book stuff, Jaishawn Barham at slot 106 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick107
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
You do not let a cornerback like Chandler Rivers reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126
Rnd4
Cyrus Allen
Cyrus Allen in the 126th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick139
Rnd5
Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton in slot 139 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick144
Rnd5
Dametrious Crownover
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dametrious Crownover at No. 144. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick147
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at the 147th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick204
Rnd6
Taylen Green
Taylen Green in pick 204 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick220
Rnd7
Dane Key
A slide stopped in the Round 7 slot, with Dane Key worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248
Rnd7
Fa'alili Fa'amoe
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 248 with a little surplus value in Fa'alili Fa'amoe. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
