Draft Grade — Texans

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Texans. You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Texans spent the Round 4 slot on Elijah Jones while running back, edge rusher and other spots sat unaddressed. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Fisher value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick42
Rnd2
Kool-Aid McKinstry
Value with a capital V on Kool-Aid McKinstry in Round 2, Pick 10, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick59
Rnd2
Junior Colson
Junior Colson in slot 59 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick86
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 23 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123
Rnd4
Elijah Jones
They bypassed pressing needs at running back, edge rusher and other spots to take Elijah Jones, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick127
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
No drama and no debate, Johnny Wilson went about where he belonged in the 127th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
