The Dolphins checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Nobody else had Kamran James anywhere near the 227th overall pick. The Dolphins did, by 119 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Landing Kilgore that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Kilgore pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with running back still on the board. The Rasheed Walker pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
