Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA-
The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: A-.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

They are betting Hartman proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Coleman.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Bottom line, with Caleb Williams leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick17 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 17 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims in No. 44 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick96 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in the 96th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick122 Rnd4 Hunter Nourzad
Hunter Nourzad at slot 122 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick212 Rnd6 Sam Hartman
Value said wait; Sam Hartman in the 212th overall pick says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick229 Rnd7 Jaylan Ford
They robbed the room for Jaylan Ford here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
