A respectable, level-headed haul for the Steelers: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Steelers did exactly that with Drew Allar in No. 99. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They banked enough surplus on Hunter to cover a lot of smaller sins. With edge rusher and cornerback unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
