Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Broncos lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Nobody had Erick All this high, and it is not close. The Broncos reached 44 spots to get him at slot 248. Put together, it is a D.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

Spending an early pick on cornerback with quarterback and wide receiver open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 T'Vondre Sweat
In pick 28 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
A clean, defensible pick in Round 2, Pick 18 with a little surplus value in T.J. Tampa. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick66 Rnd3 Tyler Guyton
No drama and no debate, Tyler Guyton went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick69 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Sedrick Van Pran. The roster fit checks out.
Pick89 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They paid sticker price for Zak Zinter in No. 89, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick100 Rnd3 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in the 100th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick108 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
No edge and no loss on Blake Fisher in slot 108; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick125 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
A want over a need in the 125th overall pick: Khyree Jackson adds a cornerback while quarterback and wide receiver keeps waiting.
Pick127 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at the 127th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick140 Rnd5 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in pick No. 140 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick182 Rnd6 Fabien Lovett
Fabien Lovett in the Round 6 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick223 Rnd7 Gavin Bartholomew
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Gavin Bartholomew well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246 Rnd7 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at No. 246 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick248 Rnd7 Erick All
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Erick All. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
