Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Bills bled value on every deal, hence the D-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tanor Bortolini at pick 144 is 43 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
A straight-up fair deal on Adonai Mitchell at the 28th pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick60 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick106 Rnd4 Maason Smith
Maason Smith in the 106th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson at pick No. 128 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
They took Jarrian Jones at par in Round 4, Pick 34, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick144 Rnd5 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini at No. 144 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick160 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
