The Bears won the night they stopped Martinez from sliding. Grade: A.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bears watched Damien Martinez slide 87 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Quenton Nelson leading the way.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Mason Graham and all.
