Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Patriots a B+.

Nobody else had Chris Tyree anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The Patriots did, by 60 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Jackson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Orlando Brown Jr. gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Nic Scourton
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick30 Rnd1 Mitchell Evans
In pick 30 they get a seam-stretching tight end, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
No edge and no loss on Jonah Savaiinaea in the 35th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick50 Rnd2 Quinshon Judkins
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at Round 2, Pick 18. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick62 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton at No. 62 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick67 Rnd3 Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III in pick No. 67 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick82 Rnd3 Oscar Delp
No drama and no debate, Oscar Delp went about where he belonged in No. 82. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick84 Rnd3 Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
A slide stopped in slot 99, with Jaeden Roberts worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick131 Rnd5 Andrew Mukuba
They left a pile of value on the table to take Andrew Mukuba this early at the 131st pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick195 Rnd7 Chris Tyree
Chris Tyree in pick 195 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
