The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Xavier Restrepo, the No. 16 name on the board, in the 228th pick. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They will need Ersery to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. J.J. McCarthy gives the group a proven body among the projects.

In the end it comes back to Ashton Jeanty, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
