A sensible, unshowy class lands the Broncos a B-.

There is reaching, and then there is CJ Dippre at pick No. 197. The Broncos jumped the board by 48 and dared it to prove them wrong. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Thornton Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
