Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Elijah Roberts in slot 99, a good 79 spots before the room expected him.

However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In slot 11 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43 Rnd2 Marcus Mbow
The board had cheaper options than Marcus Mbow at pick 43, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick99 Rnd3 Elijah Roberts
Elijah Roberts in the 99th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick112 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
They jumped the gun on Terrance Ferguson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick138 Rnd4 Savion Williams
They robbed the room for Savion Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
Nice patience on Darius Alexander, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 38. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick189 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 6 slot with a little surplus value in JJ Pegues. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick228 Rnd7 Nick Martin
Value said wait; Nick Martin in the 228th overall pick says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick232 Rnd7 Hunter Wohler
They went early on Hunter Wohler in pick No. 232, and the value did not follow. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick255 Rnd7 Nohl Williams
A conviction pick on Nohl Williams at slot 255 that the board grades a round light. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
