Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the 49ers.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the 49ers spent pick 211 on Solomon Byrd, a name most had 51 spots down the list. No fireworks, but a solid B.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hampton. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
