Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks let Hill Jr. fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Anthony Hill Jr. had no business being available in pick No. 58, and the Seahawks did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The Hunter pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
They did well to land Jermod McCoy in pick 15, just ahead of his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick58 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. at the 58th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick79 Rnd3 Michael Taaffe
A straight-up fair deal on Michael Taaffe at pick No. 79, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick90 Rnd3 Caleb Tiernan
They paid sticker price for Caleb Tiernan in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick115 Rnd4 Jack Endries
They let Jack Endries come to them and pounced at slot 115. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick154 Rnd5 Lee Hunter
They reached into another round for Lee Hunter, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tree Babalade
Tree Babalade at No. 179 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick193 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
A premium they did not need to pay, Bryce Foster a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
