The 49ers torched the value chart for Trajan Jeffcoat, taking him 39 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will answer for taking cornerback early while running back, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The Taylor pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
