Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureA+
No fireworks, just a tidy B+ for the Giants.

Nobody had Charles Jagusah this high, and it is not close. The Giants reached 25 spots to get him at the Round 4 slot. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. That Anderson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. Job largely done: safety settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a rangy last line of defense. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
A slide stopped in pick 35, with Caleb Banks worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick36 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. in pick No. 36 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick84 Rnd3 Cayden Green
No edge and no loss on Cayden Green in the 84th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at slot 102 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick104 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
They talked themselves into Charles Jagusah at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jadarian Price
Good price on Jadarian Price in pick No. 142, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick182 Rnd6 Oscar Delp
The board had cheaper options than Oscar Delp at Round 6, Pick 2, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick191 Rnd6 Bud Clark
A reach on Bud Clark in pick 191; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick193 Rnd6 Aaron Anderson
Aaron Anderson in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
