The Ravens bet big and early on Gino Garcia, 67 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Starks. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

They took Mike Green at par in pick 27, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick59 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Somehow Malaki Starks was still sitting there in the 59th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick91 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 91 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick128 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 27, where Hollin Pierce graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick136 Rnd4 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Dont'e Thornton Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick176 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at slot 176 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.

This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac TeSlaa in the 178th overall pick, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick185 Rnd6 Simeon Barrow Jr.
They talked themselves into Simeon Barrow Jr. at the Round 6 slot, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant in pick 205 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

Gino Garcia in slot 213 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick245 Rnd7 Donovan Smith
Donovan Smith at pick No. 245 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
