Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Ravens lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Ravens would have aced it. Dont'e Thornton Jr. at pick 91 is 85 spots clear of where he belonged. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Getting Gadsden II where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the 27th pick they get a matchup weapon at tight end, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick59 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
They went early on Donovan Ezeiruaku in Round 2, Pick 27, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick70 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
By-the-book stuff, Maxwell Hairston at pick 70 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter slipping to slot 88 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 91 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick176 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
Nice patience on Chase Lundt, who had no business lasting to the Round 5 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick178 Rnd5 Miles Frazier
A wild overpay on Miles Frazier in pick No. 178, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock at the Round 6 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick205 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson at pick 205 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick213 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at the 213th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick245 Rnd7 Gino Garcia
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Gino Garcia well ahead of where he belonged. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
