Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Nix is the plan now, and the Browns grade out a B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Myles Harden got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at Round 7, Pick 23. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

So much rides on Bo Nix that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The cost of the Rice reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick No. 1 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick11 Rnd1 Bo Nix
A wild overpay on Bo Nix in the Round 1 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick33 Rnd2 Junior Colson
Junior Colson at Round 2, Pick 1 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick54 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at the 54th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick85 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in pick 85 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick156 Rnd5 Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Somehow Tyrone Tracy Jr. was still sitting there in No. 156, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Nathan Thomas
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Nathan Thomas at the 206th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick227 Rnd7 Blake Watson
The board fumbled Blake Watson all the way to slot 227, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick243 Rnd7 Myles Harden
They robbed the room for Myles Harden here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
