Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
Larceny in No. 39 lands the Bears a B+, Emmanwori and all.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

Emmanwori falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. If James pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 39th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick41 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 41. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick72 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson at slot 72 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick148 Rnd5 Logan Brown
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Logan Brown. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick149 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore is a better player than pick 149 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick233 Rnd7 Kobe Hudson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kobe Hudson at pick No. 233. It fills a real need, too.
Pick240 Rnd7 Shemar James
Shemar James at No. 240 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
