Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Steelers won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Steelers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. It is not that Frazier is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first.

Every board in the league had Travis lower, and that gap is the story. On value alone, Smith makes the weekend a net positive.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick38 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick52 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
A surprising call. With interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots still to address, they spent Round 2, Pick 20 on Zach Frazier, an offensive lineman they were not short of.
Pick76 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
They paid sticker price for Johnny Wilson in the 76th overall pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick106 Rnd4 Tykee Smith
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tykee Smith at No. 106 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick119 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
They jumped the gun on Jordan Travis, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
No drama and no debate, Jared Wiley went about where he belonged in pick 198. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick241 Rnd7 Joshua Cephus
Joshua Cephus in slot 241 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
