Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Raiders would have aced it. Charles Demmings at Round 6, Pick 1 is 58 spots clear of where he belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Hunter pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Garrett Nussmeier
They reached into another round for Garrett Nussmeier, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Lee Hunter
They barely believed it either: Lee Hunter still on the board at pick No. 67. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick102 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg in slot 102 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick117 Rnd4 Deion Burks
Deion Burks is a better player than the 117th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick134 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
A quiet steal in No. 134: Parker Brailsford for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick174 Rnd5 Raylen Wilson
A wild overpay on Raylen Wilson in Round 5, Pick 36, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick180 Rnd6 Charles Demmings
They reached a country mile for Charles Demmings at No. 180, and the board is aghast. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick183 Rnd6 Noah Whittington
Noah Whittington at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A premium they did not need to pay, Jalon Daniels a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
