When the story of this class is written, it opens with Cameron Ward at the 71st overall pick, a reach of 76 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Cowing. With tight end, cornerback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on defensive back is the choice that costs them.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
