Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Jets left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

Start where it matters. The Jets took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Brade value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They are betting Trotter Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In No. 4 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
They paid sticker price for Jordan Morgan in slot 36, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the 65th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick171 Rnd5 Beau Brade
The board had Beau Brade higher than the 171st pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick173 Rnd5 Dylan Laube
A tidy little value on Dylan Laube in pick No. 173, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick176 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 1 with a little surplus value in Ryan Flournoy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick257 Rnd7 Deantre Prince
Deantre Prince is a better player than pick 257 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
