The Buccaneers did not so much draft Donovan Smith as overpay for him, 39 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Scourton pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
