The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Patriots reached some 29 spots for Joe Milton III, and value like that does not grow back. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The Abrams-Draine steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
