Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bengals let Hart fall and pounced. Final grade: B. The Bengals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Hart fell into the Round 5 slot.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The All reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick49
Rnd2
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in No. 49 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock in the 80th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick97
Rnd3
Mekhi Wingo
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mekhi Wingo. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick115
Rnd4
Erick All
Erick All at pick 115 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick149
Rnd5
Cam Hart
You do not let a cornerback like Cam Hart reach pick No. 149 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick194
Rnd6
Edefuan Ulofoshio
No drama and no debate, Edefuan Ulofoshio went about where he belonged in slot 194. The roster fit checks out.
Pick214
Rnd6
Nathan Thomas
The board fumbled Nathan Thomas all the way to the 214th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick224
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
A running back of that caliber at pick 224 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick237
Rnd7
Bub Means
Taking Bub Means in Round 7, Pick 17 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
