The phones sank the Steelers this weekend: D-.

Nobody else had Ricky Pearsall anywhere near pick No. 116. The Steelers did, by 84 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Frazier pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, safety and other spots still on the board.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Nelson.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

In No. 25 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.

Troy Fautanu at Round 2, Pick 16 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the linebacker. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins in slot 57 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Cooper DeJean
They did well to land Cooper DeJean in the 67th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick83 Rnd3 Zach Frazier
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, safety and other spots to take Zach Frazier, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Pick89 Rnd3 Nazir Stackhouse
No edge and no loss on Nazir Stackhouse in slot 89; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

Kamal Hadden in the 246th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
