MsbNiner DRAFTING FOR THE49ers

Draft Grade — 49ers

FutureB-
Larceny in pick 186 lands the 49ers a B, Taylor and all. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Mason Taylor, the No. 99 name on the board, stolen at the 186th pick. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They are betting Smith proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Wyatt Milum
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge slid further than he should have, and pick No. 43 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick75
Rnd3
Jake Majors
Jake Majors at pick 75 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick100
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at slot 100. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick112
Rnd4
Deontae Lawson
Steal is underselling it; Deontae Lawson at the 112th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick137
Rnd4
Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart at Round 4, Pick 36 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick186
Rnd6
Mason Taylor
They will replay Mason Taylor at the 186th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
Taking Jordan Hancock in No. 226 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick230
Rnd7
Jonas Sanker
The board fumbled Jonas Sanker all the way to No. 230, and they scooped it up. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick249
Rnd7
Tim Smith
They talked themselves into Tim Smith at the 249th pick, and the board did not agree. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick254
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Shilo Sanders in pick No. 254. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
