Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the 49ers, and a B to prove it.

The 49ers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Collin Oliver at the Round 6 slot regardless, 104 picks early. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Reid steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Wyatt Milum
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
A slide stopped in the 43rd overall pick, with Tate Ratledge worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75 Rnd3 Deone Walker
Good price on Deone Walker in Round 3, Pick 11, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100 Rnd3 Jake Majors
A clean, defensible pick in the 100th pick with a little surplus value in Jake Majors. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick112 Rnd4 Gunnar Helm
Taking Gunnar Helm in slot 112 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick137 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in pick 137 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick186 Rnd6 Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver in No. 186 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick226 Rnd7 Xavier Nwankpa
They barely believed it either: Xavier Nwankpa still on the board at the 226th pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick230 Rnd7 Karene Reid
Karene Reid at slot 230 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick249 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger in pick No. 249 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick254 Rnd7 Justin Walley
They talked themselves into Justin Walley at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. A minor itch, scratched.
