Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A passer of the future in Mendoza, and a C-, for the Raiders.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The cost of the World reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Muhammad at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
No drama and no debate, Fernando Mendoza went about where he belonged in pick No. 1. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick44 Rnd2 Christen Miller
Christen Miller is a better player than the 44th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick67 Rnd3 Josiah Trotter
Good price on Josiah Trotter in slot 67, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick102 Rnd4 Malik Muhammad
They robbed the room for Malik Muhammad here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103 Rnd4 Isaiah World
A big swing on Isaiah World at Round 4, Pick 3, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
No edge and no loss on Keylan Rutledge in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jakobe Thomas
The board had Jakobe Thomas higher than the 134th pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick174 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson in pick 174 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick175 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on DJ Campbell. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick180 Rnd6 Bud Clark
Value said wait; Bud Clark in the 180th overall pick says they were not listening. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick183 Rnd6 Eric McAlister
Eric McAlister at pick 183 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss at slot 192 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick218 Rnd7 Raylen Wilson
The board had cheaper options than Raylen Wilson at the 218th pick, and it noticed. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick219 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in Round 7, Pick 3 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
