Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB
The Raiders cashed the board's mistake on Bassa: D.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jeffrey Bassa had no business being available in the Round 6 slot, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

The cost of the Howard reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
Tetairoa McMillan at Round 1, Pick 12 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick37 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Morrison at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick44 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at the 44th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick68 Rnd3 Omarion Hampton
Taking Omarion Hampton in No. 68 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick73 Rnd3 Deone Walker
Fair-plus on Deone Walker, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick106 Rnd4 Will Howard
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Will Howard. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick142 Rnd5 Dylan Sampson
They barely believed it either: Dylan Sampson still on the board at pick 142. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick178 Rnd6 Smael Mondon Jr.
They robbed the room for Smael Mondon Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick212 Rnd6 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in the Round 6 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
You do not let a linebacker like Jeffrey Bassa reach Round 6, Pick 41 and blink. They did not. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick222 Rnd7 Miles Frazier
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Miles Frazier. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
