Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Raiders found their guy under center in Sanders: D.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Raiders did exactly that with DJ Campbell in slot 138.

However the rest shakes out, Perkins Jr. at that price is a win they earned. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In pick No. 1 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tre Harris
The board had Tre Harris higher than the 34th pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick65 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
They barely believed it either: Dylan Sampson still on the board at No. 65. It fills a real need, too.
Pick69 Rnd3 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in the 69th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick103 Rnd4 Xavier Watts
Somehow Xavier Watts was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick138 Rnd4 DJ Campbell
They reached into another round for DJ Campbell, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick178 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
They will replay Nicholas Singleton at Round 6, Pick 3 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick212 Rnd6 Ricky White III
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ricky White III in the 212th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick216 Rnd7 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick217 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at pick No. 217 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
