Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Jamon Dumas-Johnson; the Raiders did not wait, grabbing him 31 spots ahead at pick No. 213.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Burden III.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In No. 6 they get a featured back. A real need, handled.
Pick37 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Luther Burden III at the Round 2 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick68 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
They talked themselves into Jalen Milroe at pick 68, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick108 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
They jumped the gun on Denzel Burke, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at slot 143 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick180 Rnd6 Ajani Cornelius
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ajani Cornelius in the 180th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick213 Rnd6 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson at pick No. 213 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick215 Rnd6 Ricky White III
Ricky White III in Round 6, Pick 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick222 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
By-the-book stuff, Carson Vinson at slot 222 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
