The Cowboys drew a line under the quarterback search with Ewers: D.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Cowboys would have aced it. Tim Smith at Round 6, Pick 33 is 33 spots clear of where he belonged. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

They have staked the next five years on Quinn Ewers, which is the only story that really matters here. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They will answer for taking edge rusher early while tight end went begging. They banked enough surplus on Wohler to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
