Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

Good, not great, for the Dolphins: B-. The Carson Beck pick is the one that will follow the Dolphins into the fall. They took him 25 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The back end got a real overhaul.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In slot 11 they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick43
Rnd2
Caleb Tiernan
A reach for Caleb Tiernan in the 43rd pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Genesis Smith
A wild overpay on Genesis Smith in Round 3, Pick 11, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick87
Rnd3
Carson Beck
They reached a country mile for Carson Beck at pick No. 87, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90
Rnd3
Ja'Kobi Lane
No drama and no debate, Ja'Kobi Lane went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
