The Lions worked the phones like thieves and earned a B.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Joshua Farmer at pick No. 60 is 58 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They banked enough surplus on Schwesinger to cover a lot of smaller sins. The phones were where this weekend was really won. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

The Myles Garrett pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick60 Rnd2 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer at the Round 2 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick131 Rnd4 Carson Schwesinger
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Carson Schwesinger in the 131st pick, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick194 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray is a better player than Round 6, Pick 19 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick225 Rnd7 Maxen Hook
They paid up for Maxen Hook at slot 225 when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick228 Rnd7 Seth McLaughlin
Good price on Seth McLaughlin in No. 228, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick244 Rnd7 Max Brosmer
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Max Brosmer. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
