Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Anthony should have been long gone. The Jets pounced, and earned a B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Jets were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. That Anthony pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Milton III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The Evan Engram deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In pick No. 17 they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick72 Rnd3 Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall slid further than he should have, and pick 72 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick111 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd at the 111th pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick135 Rnd4 Roger Rosengarten
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Roger Rosengarten. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick185 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III in Round 6, Pick 10 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick256 Rnd7 Daijahn Anthony
Daijahn Anthony at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Bub Means
Bub Means is a better player than pick No. 257 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
