dannyphantomjr3 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Allen. Final grade: B-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how LeQuint Allen got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The McCord reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 18 they get a go-to option on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
A reach for Demetrius Knight Jr. in No. 50; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick52
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
They paid sticker price for Harold Fannin Jr. in the 52nd overall pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick82
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at Round 3, Pick 18 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92
Rnd3
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord at the 92nd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137
Rnd4
Aeneas Peebles
Aeneas Peebles in pick 137 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at the Round 5 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick175
Rnd5
James Burnip
A slide stopped in pick No. 175, with James Burnip worth more than the price. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick223
Rnd7
LeQuint Allen
Circle this one: LeQuint Allen at pick No. 223 is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick234
Rnd7
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at pick 234 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
