Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Ravens. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Ravens started one anyway for Phillip Webb, 140 picks ahead of schedule. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Robinson at that price is a win they earned.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Shavon Revel Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in pick 59 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91
Rnd3
Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey slipping to pick No. 91 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jordan James
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jordan James at slot 129. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136
Rnd4
Rylie Mills
They paid sticker price for Rylie Mills in the 136th pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick176
Rnd5
Antwane Wells Jr.
A big swing on Antwane Wells Jr. at No. 176, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183
Rnd6
Ty Robinson
They read the board right and Ty Robinson was the payoff at pick 183. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203
Rnd6
DJ Uiagalelei
This one needs a full-page explanation: DJ Uiagalelei in pick No. 203, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick210
Rnd6
Logan Parr
They left a pile of value on the table to take Logan Parr this early at Round 6, Pick 34. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick212
Rnd6
Phillip Webb
A wild overpay on Phillip Webb in the Round 6 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick243
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders in slot 243 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
