FutureB
More right than wrong for the Titans, and a B to prove it. The Titans clearly saw something nobody else did in Zavion Thomas, taking him 44 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Hecht that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
David Bailey
In pick 4 they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick40
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson slid further than he should have, and the 40th overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick66
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Omar Cooper Jr. worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick101
Rnd4
Sam Hecht
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sam Hecht in No. 101. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick140
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
A reach for Kyle Louis in Round 5, Pick 2; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick142
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
No drama and no debate, DeMonte Capehart went about where he belonged in slot 142. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick182
Rnd6
Zavion Thomas
Zavion Thomas at Round 6, Pick 3 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick238
Rnd7
Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia at pick No. 238 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
