Jareo DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Steelers, and a B- to prove it. Priorities are a choice, and the Steelers made a strange one, taking Blake Fisher at offensive lineman in pick No. 119 with safety, edge rusher and other spots crying out for the pick instead.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Jacobs left real value on the table behind him.
Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In the 20th pick they get an island corner at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick51
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at No. 51 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick84
Rnd3
Malik Washington
Malik Washington at pick No. 84 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick98
Rnd3
Maason Smith
Maason Smith in slot 98 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick119
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Blake Fisher adds an offensive lineman and leaves safety, edge rusher and other spots untouched.
Pick178
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
Value said wait; Curtis Jacobs in Round 6, Pick 3 says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
Pick195
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at pick 195 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
