A costly weekend of dealing drags the Saints to a D-.

Nobody else had J.J. Weaver anywhere near the 247th overall pick. The Saints did, by 130 spots, and that gap is the whole story. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jackson.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
