When a board-topper like Barrett Carter slides to the 183rd pick, you do not overthink it, and the Chargers did not. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
