FrankCorsi DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B-
ValueC+

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Steelers: B-. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Diego Pavia a full 45 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Klare. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In pick No. 21 they get a true top target. A real need, handled.
Pick53
Rnd2
Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia at Round 2, Pick 21 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick76
Rnd3
Carter Smith
A reach for Carter Smith in slot 76; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick85
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare at the 85th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99
Rnd3
Jake Golday
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jake Golday at the 99th overall pick is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick121
Rnd4
Xavier Scott
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Xavier Scott in the Round 4 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136
Rnd4
Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the quarterback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick160
Rnd5
Albert Regis
They paid sticker price for Albert Regis in the 160th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick213
Rnd6
Peyton Bowen
Peyton Bowen in pick 213 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick214
Rnd6
Jamal Haynes
They paid up for Jamal Haynes at No. 214 when waiting would have done the job. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick224
Rnd7
Jordan White
They went early on Jordan White in the 224th pick, and the value did not follow. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick237
Rnd7
Dominic Zvada
Dominic Zvada in slot 237 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
