Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
B

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Raiders: B. The Raiders' one glaring miss is running back, a need they left exactly as they found it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jagusah. They will need Nussmeier to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Rueben Bain Jr.
In slot 1 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36
Rnd2
Garrett Nussmeier
They reached a country mile for Garrett Nussmeier at Round 2, Pick 4, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick67
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan at pick No. 67 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick102
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
No drama and no debate, Harold Perkins Jr. went about where he belonged in the 102nd pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick117
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at the 117th overall pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick135
Rnd4
Charles Jagusah
A quiet steal in pick 135: Charles Jagusah for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick176
Rnd5
Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa in No. 176 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick181
Rnd6
Sawyer Robertson
No edge and no loss on Sawyer Robertson in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick184
Rnd6
Evan Stewart
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Evan Stewart. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick219
Rnd7
Lawson Luckie
A premium they did not need to pay, Lawson Luckie a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
