Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB-
The Colts let Lew fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. Call it larceny. Connor Lew sat on the board until the 78th pick, and the Colts did not need to be asked twice.
It is not that Everette is a bad player; it is that the Colts had louder needs to answer first. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick47
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse in Round 2, Pick 15 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick78
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew at pick No. 78 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick113
Rnd4
Daylen Everette
A surprising call. With quarterback, running back and other spots still to address, they spent No. 113 on Daylen Everette, a cornerback they were not short of.
Pick155
Rnd5
Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez in the 155th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick216
Rnd6
Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh in pick 216 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick230
Rnd7
Anthony Evans III
By-the-book stuff, Anthony Evans III at the 230th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick253
Rnd7
Jalen Catalon
Jalen Catalon in the Round 7 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
